Wilko (Wilkinson Stores) has posted sales of £1.4bn for the year to January, some 1.2 per cent down on the previous year. Profits were also impacted in the face of growing competition from discount stores and supermarket chains cutting prices. Wilko operates 370 stores & plans to open a further 14 this year as well as modernising some of its outlets.
