PostNL rubber stamps Whistl MBO

Earlier this year PostNL announced a review of its international operations and of its UK operation, Whistl. It concluded that the management team at Whistl should take a controlling stake with PostNL retaining a 17.5 per cent shareholding.  PostNL an Whistl are now working to finalise the deal.

Following this, Whistl , which was previously known as TNT Post, will be able to develop its current portfolio of activities. Its core DSA business claims 56 per cent market share in the UK, handling approximately 3.75 bn items of mail alongside its established door drop media division. In addition it has growing packets & parcels and logistics divisions.

Commenting on the development CEO Nick Wells said “Through a management led company, Whistl will continue to build upon its entrepreneurial heritage. We will continue to challenge, innovate and provide a great service to customers, whilst retaining the support of PostNL.”
