Mothercare has entered into a five year contract extension with DHL Supply Chain. Under the arrangement DHL will handle the national distribution of products to Mothercare’s 300 UK stores, and a growing number of overseas franchises, from its main site in Crick, Northants. The new contract will stimulate greater efficiency for the UK operation, with a strong focus on cost and collaborative initiatives, while supporting Mothercare’s agenda to drive growth and reach, with a streamlined distribution model for international markets, according to DHL.
Graeme Thompson, head of global supply chain planning and development, Mothercare UK, commented ” We are wlays looking at ways to serve our customers better and the new contract with DHL enaures parents in the UK and worldwide can get the quality products they need at their convenience. An integrated and streamlined supply chain is key to this vision.”
