Diabetes UK President Richard Lane OBE retired from his post on the 14th December. He had been in the role since 2008 following three years of working for the charity in a voluntary capacity. Commenting the move he said ” The best thing about working with Diabetes UK has been meeting tens of thousands of inspirational people, many of whom are living with diabetes and who have made a lasting impression on me. Earlier this year I also met Her Majesty The Queen at St James’s Palace at the Diabetes UK’s 80th anniversary celebrations and that was quite a moment ! “
