Jermyn Street menswear retailer New & Lingwood has been acquired by US private equity investor POP Capital. New & Lingwood was originally founded in 1865 as an outfitter for Eton College pupils, opening its Jermyn Street store in 1922. The acquisition encompasses Bowring Arundel, Pulsen Skone and WB Brown. Previous owner Anthony Spitz will retain a minority stake and stay on as chairman of the company.
