The Hut Group is reported to be negotiating the sale of a significant stake in its business to Blackrock, a US investment firm after deciding not to float the business. The investment of c $100 million would be used to expand the multi-brand online group’s business activity in the US and other markets. It has recently confirmed it will open a manufacturing facility in Kentucky for its nutritional supplements business. The Hut operates 65 websites and 19 brands which include MyProtein.com and Zavvi. Sales in 2014 were £248 million.
