Polestar administrators have confirmed that Barry Hibbert who has been CEO of the print business since 2001 has now left the company. It is not clear whether Hibbert accepted a redundancy package. Meanwhile Express Newspapers, a significant Polestar customer has taken its supplement printing contract to another supplier having failed in its bid to acquire the print business. It is now being rumoured that there are just days left before Polestar plants are closed as no credible buyers for the business as a going concern have been found. However, there is still some reported interest in the Stones’ Banbury web offset site as well as in the Exeter based Wheaton’s book printing plant.
