Hotel Chocolat founders Peter Harris and Angus Thirlwell are celebrating this week as the share price of their newly floated business rose from 148p to 190p in the first 24 hours to achieve a market capitalisation of over £210 million. With the pair having retained 66 per cent of the business between them, they now hold a £140 million asset.
The multichannel chocolate specialist will now embark on significant investment in its digital platform in order to take the brand into new markets as well as achieve greater efficiencies in its UK manufacturing operation.
