Boden has posted its results for the year for 31st December 2016 in which it grew its sales to £308.3 million, with pre-tax profits up by 9.6 per cent to £26.2 million. The business, founded by Johnnie Boden, embarked on a major programme of investment during the year which includes the development of a new contact centre and warehouse in Leicester and also laid plans to redevelop its headquarters in Park Royal. Alongside this, plans were progressed to open a London flagship store and this is due to open on King’s Road this Autumn. In addition, there are now five Boden concessions in John Lewis stores as well as an online presence for the brand with Next Label, Zalando and La Redoute. The US market will also see Boden appear in Nordstrom stores.
New CEO, Jill Easterbook who joined Boden in February this year, replacing Julian Granville, said “The investment in the business and brand is delivering results and we were very pleased with our performance in 2016. The first half of this year has started well and has seen continued growth. Our significant investment programme, which will have an impact on future profits, is on track.”
