Eve Sleep, the primarily online bedding retailer which raised £35 million on AIM earlier this year, has posted its sales for the six month period to June. Revenues grew to £11.5 million for the period but pre-tax losses came in at £9.1 million, nearly £6 million higher than for the same period last year.
The business had entered nine new markets and is now active in 15 countries. It is now taking concession space in 79 Karstadt stores in Germany as well as selling via its own German website and that of Karstadt. This combined with its presence in Next Home in the UK will, the retailer says, greatly extend its reach.
“Our maiden results as a listed company demonstrate extensive strategic progress and strong trading momentum,” said Jas Bagniewski, Eve Sleep CEO. “This will be further enhanced by our recent retail partnerships with Next Home and Karstadt, which, in addition to increasing brand awareness, provides a national network of high quality outlets for those customers who still prefer to try before they buy, in Europe’s two largest mattress markets.”
