Oak Furniture Land appoints director

Oak Furniture Land has announced the appointment of Alex Fisher as its chief operating officer. Fisher joins as the retailer continues on its growth trajectory with further store openings in progress as well as a developing digital presence in the USA which will be followed by stores. He was previously CEO at Watchshop and served as a director of Aurum Group Ltd, having previously worked with Tesco, Walmart, Morrisons, Clarks International and Mothercare.

This new appointment follows the arrival of Ruth Harrison-Wood as CMO in November 2017. Fisher now succeeds Terry King who moves up to the role of CEO.

Commenting on Fisher’s appointment, Jason Bannister, founder and executive chairman of Oak Furniture Land said “Alex brings a wealth of multichannel  and international experience which will prepare us for our next phase of rapid growth, and will particularly help strengthen our digital capabilities and overseas opportunities.”
