Carpetright has plans to close 92 stores of which eleven have already been shuttered. The beleaguered retailer is presenting its CVA proposals to landlords and shareholders which, it is understood, will lead to 300 job losses. Rent reductions are being sought on 113 stores which, the business says, is paramount if it is to be able to return to profitable trading.
Carpetright currently employs 2,700 staff across its 412 stores and has issued three profit warnings in four months.
