Kleeneze enters administration

Direct sales organisation Kleeneze has entered administration. The business was founded in 1923 to sell household products door to door via a network of self employed agents who earned commission based on their success.  It has continued to trade on the same basis ever since with an increased range  of products and is understood to have approximately 5000 independent agents in the UK and Ireland.  The business has a permanent employed workforce of 140 at its head office and distribution centre.

Usdaw, the trade union for Kleeneze staff is  seeking urgent meetings with the administrators, David Acland and Anthony Collier of FRP Advisory LLP.

Annette Bott of Usdaw said : “This is clearly a difficult and upsetting time for the 140 staff based in Accrington and Heywood. We are pressing the administrators to find a buyer for the company who will protect jobs and keep the business going.”
