Mountain Warehouse has bucked the general trend to post sales of £225.3 million for the year to February 25th, representing an uplift of 14 per cent on a like-for-like basis. The retailer had seen its online business grow by 32 per cent year on year and had opened 25 new stores. Its international sales also grew by 36.5 per cent year-on-year to represent close to 30 per cent of its overall sales.
CEO Mark Neale commented: “We are concentrating on opening more stores, We do not subscribe to this ‘death of the high street story’. We’ve found it quite difficult to find empty stores in the places where we want to open.”
