CEO Alex Baldock has revealed plans to close 92 Dixons Carphone stores in a programme of rationalisation. It is being said that affected staff will be offered the opportunity to transfer to larger outlets and that there are unlikely to be redundancies. Baldock says that the business is responding to a changing UK retail market and has warned that profits will fall by around 21 per cent for the current year, but that its international business is doing well.
