Online musical instruments store Gear4Music has reported a 36 per cent increase in its sales for the six months to 31 August 2018. Sales had risen from £31.2 million to £42.5 million for the period which saw a 230 per cent increase in orders fulfilled from its German distribution centre. The business will move to a new distribution centre in Sweden by the end of October so as to be better placed with optimal stock levels to handle peak demand from Swedish customers.
“We have continued to make good progress over the last six months with sales growth during the period being 36 per cent ahead of out expectations,” commented CEO Andrew Wass, adding: “Our core UK market continues to perform well and with the UK distribution centre upgrades we announced in May progressing to plan, we are well positioned to deliver further strong sales growth during the busier second half of the year.”
