Halfords has withdrawn its interest in acquiring Evans Cycles having emerged as a front runner last month. This brings Evans back to the block with Sports Direct being suggested as the most likely, and able, to confirm an offer.
Evans Cycles has been in the cycle retailing business since 1921 and is owned by ECI Partners.
