Farfetch has acquired one of its marketplace trading companies which specialises in high ticket sportswear. US based Stadium Goods was acquired for US$250 million and will now trade as a subsidiary of Farfetch. Stadium Goods also operates from two New York stores as well as from its own standalone website primarily selling premium and rare sports shoes as well as other upmarket streetwear.
Jose Neves, Farfetch CEO commented: “Having already collaborated with the exceptional team via the Farfetch marketplace, it is clear that there is a great opportunity for our two companies to leverage each other’s strengths to go after a larger share of an exciting and fast-growing segment of luxury fashion.
“Farfetch will benefit from Stadium Goods’ brand, access to supply and a team with a strong passion for and knowledge of luxury streetwear. We can’t wait to get started with John, Jed and the rest of the Stadium Goods team.”
