Publicis exploring Epsilon acquisition

Publicis Group has confirmed that it is ‘studying’ the potential acquisition of Epsilon which is under a sales process by Alliance Data Systems Corporation.

Epsilon is best known in the USA and in the UK for its Abacus Alliance co-operative database activity which sees a range of direct retailers pool their data in exchange for profiling and rental of other contributors’ data.

Publicis remains non-committal at this juncture, issuing a statement in which it says that “it feels an obligation to study any possibility to strengthen its position thanks to assets that could fit the Group’s strategy and bring an enhanced service to the Group’s clients while reinforcing its competitiveness for the future.”
