Karen Byers has resigned from her role as director of business operations at Sports Direct with immediate effect. Byers had worked for the business for 28 years and was widely respected. Mike Ashley commented: “The door will always be open to Karen if she wishes to come back to the business as a consultant.”
The group’s company secretary Cameron Olsen is also understood to have resigned.
