Whilst many other retailers are posting disappointing results, Selfridges increased its sales by 6 per cent for the year to February 2019, reaching £1.85 billion. Its profits fell by £5 million to £170 million as it had invested heavily in developing the customer experiences it offers, including a skate bowl in its Oxford Street menswear department, for example. It is now set to add to the allure of its Oxford Street store when its cinema opens early in November.
