Tobar is seeking to focus wholly on its wholesale business and is now seeking a buyer for its long established Hawkin’s Bazaar retail store chain and direct to consumer online business. Hawkin’s Bazaar achieved sales of £15.8 million in 2018 with 12.3 per cent of the total generated online. It was founded in the 1970s and currently has 23 permanent stores, on mostly short leases, which are supplemented by pop-ups during peak season. The sale is being handled by Christie & Co.
