Vansteenkiste relinquishes CEO role

Having held the Debenhams CEO post since August, Stefaan Vansteenkinste will now return to a consultancy role for the troubled department store chain business. In administration for a second time, administrator FRP Advisory are expected to take the lead together with Steve Cook and Mike Hazell, Debenhams’ managing director and CFO respectively.

It is not yet known if or when the business will seek a permanent CEO or promote a member from its current team to the role.

17 Debenhams stores are known to be to closing permanently, with hundreds of jobs slashed, as the business now moves to re-open 90 of its stores from June 15th.
