Escorted touring holiday specialist Leger Holidays has acquired the Shearings name, website and customer database from its administrators. The acquisition does not include the coach fleet or hotels nor sister brands owned by Shearings parent Specialist Leisure Group.
The mature market holidays business specialises in all-inclusive touring breaks in Europe where it came head to head with competitor Shearings, with the latter majoring in hotel breaks at UK holiday resorts with local coach pick up points around the country.
Leger CEO Ian Henry said: “Shearings is a heritage brand and an iconic name and a lot of people worked there for many years. We want to try and take good care of the brand and build it up for the future and hopefully in so doing, it may create some more jobs along the line.”
The Shearings brand will relaunch soon with a new programme for 2021.
