Fresh from unveiling its annual results, which saw sales top £2.3bn, Ocado.com has launched a dedicated B-Corp shopping aisle as part of its ‘wider commitment to sustainability’.
Based within Ocado’s Eco Shop, the aisle has over 1,100 products from more than 35 brands. Ella’s Kitchen baby food, Innocent drinks, Method cleaning products, Charlie Bigham’s meals, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and Cheeky Panda bamboo tissues are among the diverse range to feature in the launch line-up.
Said to ‘dwarf’ similar offerings from other grocery retailers, the company’s new initiative aims to appeal to customers looking to make more ethical and environmentally sustainable purchases. It’s been introduced ahead of B-Corp month in March – an annual promotion that celebrates the force of business for good.
Jo West, head of sustainability at Ocado Retail said: “Our B-Corp aisle is a really positive step for both our customers and our sustainability efforts. We’re delighted to be making greener choices easier for Ocado customers by gathering all these amazing brands that have made a commitment to building a more sustainable future, in one easy-to-find place.”
