The Fragrance Shop has posted gross annual retail sales of £128 million for the year to March 31st, 2021. Most of its stores were, of course, closed for most of the year but 164 per cent growth in its online sales saw eCommerce channels contributed 56 per cent of its revenues. It had used stores to fulfil orders which had enabled it to limit use of the government’s furlough scheme.
“Unprecedented times have presented us with enormous challenges, but I couldn’t be prouder of the way everyone in the business has pulled together to get us through this difficult period,” commented CEO Sanjay Vadera. “The work we’d already done on our strengthening our online platform provided the foundations on which we were able to grow our digital offer to meet the dramatic change in customers’ shopping habits.”
