DHL is to invest £482m in its eCommerce services business DHL Parcel UK. The investment follows the 40 per cent uplift in demand it has experienced since 2020 and will see over £200m allocated to a new 25,000 sq.m. hub in Segro Park, Coventry which will have capacity for over half a million parcels a day. A further £190m will go into the creation of ten new collection and delivery depots across the UK and in expanding capacity at twenty of its existing sites. DHL says that the Coventry development will create around 600 new jobs.
Paul Fuller, CEO, DHL Parcel UK said: “This investment is a real demonstration of the excellent work our people and partners have delivered over the past two years to get us to the level of growth where major expansion is required to meet customer demand. eCommerce is going to continue to shape the world around us, this investment, along with the strength of the DHL brand and our leading approach to digitalisation and sustainability will put us in a strong position to take advantage of market growth.”
