Monsoon and Accesorize owner Adena Brands says that sales to August 27th reached £240 million achieving a pre-tax profit of £17.8 million. The business, which has continued to trade well into the current financial year, is looking to open 22 new stores during the period to add to the 154 it retained following its rescue out of administration by founder Peter Simon. Monsoon has since gone on to launch an online marketplace, Monsoon Bazaar, which features products from ethically and aesthetically aligned brands.
The retailer will be targeting store sites in well-heeled regional towns and cities and should have plenty to choose from.
