Work is underway on the SmartParc food manufacturing development in Derby for a second HelloFresh packing and distribution hub on the site. It will open next year, span some 400,000 sq.ft. and will be the business’s most advanced facility to date.
Adam Park, UK CEO for HelloFresh commented: “The new site will enable us to use state-of-the-art technology to innovate and continuously improve our product offering. That way we will be able to offer our customers more choice, flexibility and overall better service levels, all while seamlessly fitting into their everyday lives.
“In addition, the new site will focus on maximising energy efficiency and minimising environmental impact. By investing into the new site, HelloFresh is reinforcing its commitment to Derby.”
A global business, headquartered in Germany, HelloFresh recorded sales of Eur 7.6bn having shipped more than a billion meals to around 7 million active customers. Its profits were, however, impacted by increased costs for meal ingredients and staffing.
