British Corner Shop enters administration

The Bristol-based online retailer, which provided British expatriates with access to their favourite food brands, has ceased to trade. Administrators Jonathan Dunn and Matthew Whitechurch of FRP were appointed on 2nd January and have since made 20 employees redundant.

British Corner Shop had previously been acquired out of administration by RCapital but had faced a very challenging market.

Jonathan Dunn, FRP Advisory said: “British Corner Shop faced significant operational challenges over the past few years and, regrettably, was no longer able to meet its financial obligations. Our focus is now on supporting staff with their applications to the Redundancy Payments Service as we wind down the business.”
