LloydsPharmacy hits the buffers

LloydsPharmacy has appointed administrators following a year in which it had been steadily selling off its outlets and its online business. The company, which has had somewhat of a chequered history, had held concessions across the Sainsbury’s supermarket chain as well as operating its own chain across the UK.

The administration impacts over 500 creditors to the tune of almost £300m, including previous owner Admenta and Aurelius, the private equity business.
