Hilco Capital is apparently commencing negotiations to sell on Homebase, having rescued it six years ago after its period in the ownership of Bunnings parent Wesfarmers, which led to Homebase stores being swamped in a flood of products more suited to Australian climes.
The Range is leading the charge, having reportedly initiated contact with Hilco to express interest in acquiring a significant number of Homebase stores. This has prompted Hilco to set up a formal sale process.
