AO, which is transitioning its delivery fleet from diesel to compressed natural gas (CNG), has acquired an additional ten CNG tractor units. To couple with these new tractor units, it has acquired 20 longer moving double deck semi-trailers which will allow a 10 per cent increase in capacity.
The new fleet will carry large appliances between the online electrical retailer’s Crewe distribution centre and its delivery outbases across the UK.
David Ashwell, group logistics director, AO said: “We are proud to be continuing our move to a more sustainable future that will hopefully see 90 per cent of our fleet running on CNG by 2030.”
