M&S posts strong H1 results

Marks & Spencer enjoyed a positive first half with profit & revenue growth. Notably, clothing and home sales rose by 4.7 per cent largely attributed to stronger demand for womenswear, with food clocking up an 8.1 per cent increase for the 26 weeks ended 28 September 2024.

CEO Stuart Machin said: “Executing our strategy to ‘Reshape M&S for Growth” has again delivered an increase in customers, sales value and volume, market share, profit and returns. Both Food and Clothing have now delivered market share growth for four consecutive years.”

The business is now focusing on delivering stronger results for Home and Beauty.
