JD Sports’ acquisition of Courir has been greenlighted by the European Commision enabling completion of the deal.
Courir is a French retailer which operates 323 of its own stores under the Courir banner in France* as well as Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal*and Spain. In addition it has 36 stores in the hands of franchisees in French overseas territories, Middle East and Africa plus three which trade under the Naked banner and which specialise in women’s footwear.

Note * Under the EC’s clearance conditions, JD will be required to divest 15 Courir stores in France and the six stores in Portugal to Snipes in Q1 2025.
