Brits gift subscriptions this Christmas to avoid wrapping presents

Over a quarter of Christmas shoppers (29 per cent) favour gifting subscriptions at Christmas to avoid the hassle of wrapping physical presents. That’s according to the latest research from Bango, which surveyed over 2000 UK consumers about their holiday shopping habits.

Of those celebrating Xmas this year, over half (58 per cent) agreed that subscriptions are a ‘great way to make Christmas last all year,’ offering ongoing enjoyment and value long after the festive season ends.

Bango’s research also explored which subscriptions Brits have on their Christmas lists this year, with the most requested being

  1.      Video streaming subscriptions
  2.      Gaming subscriptions
  3.      Shopping subscriptions
  4.      Music subscriptions
  5.      Health and fitness subscriptions

Commenting on the findings, Giles Tongue, subscriptions expert at Bango said, “While video subscriptions are on top when it comes to Christmas gifts, this trend extends far beyond just streaming services. Today’s shoppers are embracing hundreds of different subscriptions, from meal kits to educational courses.

“This year, consumers are also finding even more value in subscriptions thanks to an array of special offers and bundled deals. These bundles let you mix and match different subscriptions, so gift-givers can keep the surprises coming all year round. It’s a savvy way to keep the Christmas spirit alive month after month.”
