Moorcroft to resume production

W. Moorcroft is to resume production of its vases and floral ceramics with a member of the Moorcroft family, the founder’s grandson William J. Moorcroft, becoming its new managing director.

The business had been forced to cease production in May due to rising costs, resulting in the loss of 50 jobs. The business has now re-engaged its staff.

William J. Moorcroft said: “The return of Moorcroft is wonderful not just for the ceramics  industry, but for the City of Stoke-on-Trent as it celebrates its centenary year, and in particular the talented staff, many of whom have been with the firm for their entire working lives.”
