One of the UK’s best known footwear brands, Clarks, eliminated 1200 jobs in 2024 in a difficult year that saw sales drop from £994.5m in 2023 to £901.3m. It had parted ways with CEO Jon Ran in April 2024 and has yet to appoint his replacement, leaving the business to be run by an interim committee.
The business cited challenging global market conditions, various elections, and general consumer uncertainty for its performance.
