Matalan’s first fully native app has recorded 1.76 million downloads since launching in August, with average order value 14 per cent higher than on the retailer’s website.
Monthly active users have grown 10 per cent month on month. App orders increased 20 per cent year on year in August and 28 per cent in September, while conversion reached 4.4 per cent against a 3.4 per cent target.
The app, developed with mobile consultancy Apadmi, includes intelligent search, richer product information and checkout through Apple Pay and Google Pay. It also brings Matalan Me rewards, account information and personalised offers into one place.
An in-store barcode scanner lets customers check product details, availability and reviews, connecting the retailer’s physical and digital channels.
Matalan said the results build on 10 per cent growth in online sales during FY26 and provide a platform for further digital development.
