London-based fashion etailer ASOS this year nearly doubled the number of countries it ships to, from 58 to 114. That move contributed to its 110 per cent leap in international sales for the first half of the fiscal year. In comparison, total ASOS revenue rose 47 per cent.
Non-UK sales now account for 25 per cent of ASOS’ turnover, even though the company does not yet have country-specific websites. It does offer pricing in euros; Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish kroner; and US dollars, however. It also recently introduced flat shipping rates for overseas orders, at prices that are not out of line with local delivery costs. Standard delivery to North America, for instance, is $6.00 and is expected to take no more than eight working days.
