  • Sales at multititle mailer N Brown Group for
    the 19 weeks to 9th January were up 4.9 percent from the previous
    year. Comparable revenue, which excludes sales from the German
    division of women’s fashion brand Simply Be and
    from men’s speciality-size apparel retailer High &
    Mighty
    , rose 3.6 percent.

  • Although total revenue for the three months to 1st January
    fell 37.1 percent from £10.8 million in 2008 to £6.79
    million in 2009, multititle cataloguer Flying
    Brands
    released an upbeat trading statement and is
    expecting to exceed profit expectations for the fiscal year.
    According to a statement, Flying Flowers was on
    target for the first time in “several years” and
    delivered sales of £3.58 million in the period, compared
    with £5.29 the previous year. Sales in the gardening
    division, which includes Gardening Direct, fell
    18.4 percent from £1.85 million to £1.51 million. The
    entertainment division, which includes the
    Listen2 audiobooks business, saw sales decline
    by 15.6 percent to £1.51 million.

  • The Bitterwallet blog contends that DSG
    International
    will soon sell its PC World
    Business
    division to computer cataloguer
    Misco; DSGi says the rumour is
    incorrect.
