Otto grows sales despite international declines


Germany-based cataloguer/retailer Otto Group reported a 1.5
percent sales rise to €10.14 billion (£9.10 billion,
$13.15 billion) in the year ended 28th February 2010.

Its UK business, Freemans Grattan Holdings, however, saw revenues
decline by more than a third. Sales at the division, which
includes apparel catalogues and websites Freemans, Oli, and
Kaleidoscope, fell from approximately £368 million
(€410 million) last year, to £235 million (€262
million, $313.2 million) in fiscal 2009/10.

Home furnishings retailer Crate and Barrel, Otto’s US business,
posted a fall in revenues of 4.3 percent to approximately
£798.5 million (€927 million, $1.24 billion) during
2009.
