Country-clothing retailer/cataloguer Fife Country is due to open
its second bricks-and-mortar store on 21st May. The new shop, in
Inverness, will sell the company’s own-brand clothing as well as
Musto, Harris Tweed, and other familiar outdoor-apparel names.
Until now, Fife Country had operated only one store-at its
headquarters in Fife.
Managing director Robert Gibson told Catalogue
e-business that a “rapid expansion in sales”
through its existing store in recent seasons gave the company
confidence to expand further. However, he adds that there are no
firm plans to open more stores, though that could change
depending on the success of this outlet.
Gibson’s expectations for the Inverness store are long-term, he
says, “as we see this part of the country being important
for us, given its rural influences, as well as its wide catchment
area”. In the first year, he has set a target for the store
to achieve 20 percent of total sales.
