Furniture retailer Lombok is considering calling
in the administrators after “a radical downsizing of its
high-street presence”, reports the Guardian.

Earlier this week, the Sunday Times reported that outdoor apparel retailer
Mountain Warehouse will open a store in Poland
this week, after sales increased 32.5 percent to £61.9
million. Turnover also rose, from £7.6 million to £9
million in the year ending February 2011. Mountain Warehouse has
one other store on the Continent, in a McArthur Glen complex in
Parndorf, near Vienna, Austria.

Arrow Electronics, an electronic components
distributor, has launched a bid for Japan-based distributor
Chip One Stop valuing the company at
approximately £60 million. Chip One Stop is focused on
supplying electronic components to design engineers and receives
99 percent of orders online.
