Foot Shop Ltd, the company behind the Cosyfeet
and Walktall catalogues, has undergone a
management buyout. David Price, owner and founder of the business
has sold the company to members of Foot Shop’s executive board,
including Andrew Peirce, managing director; Jackie Bemmer,
finance director; Jim Lockyer, Walktall brand director and web
director and Nick Brine, operations director.
The Mail on Sunday reports that ECMOD Direct
Commerce Award winner WorldStores looks set to
double the size of its product range this year. The business,
which operates SofasWorld,
GardenFurnitureWorld, and
BarbecuesWorld among others, expects to break
even this year, with sales reaching of £40 million-a growth
of 70 percent.
Exeter-based toys and homewares retailer Toys and
Interiors is gearing up to launch two online stores
after receiving a funding package from Lloyds TSB Commercial,
reports the Exeter Express & Echo.
Discussions have ended about the sale of electronics retailer
Maplin. The Telegraph writes that private equity firm
Montagu will “hold on to the business” for another
year.
Apparel retailer East has reported a successful
year, with sale in the year to 31st January up 5 percent to
£38.9 million and pretax profit up 9.5 percent to £2.3
million, writes the Telegraph.
