Vistaprint, a provider of business cards and personalised
products is to acquire Albumprinter, a Dutch photo book
specialist for up to €65 million (£57 million, $89
million).
Albumprinter is a leading European online photo book firm,
serving customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Germany,
France, Sweden and Norway. Since its launch in 2003, Albumprinter
has serviced more than 2 million consumers in Europe through its
Albelli, Bonusprint and �nskefoto consumer brands and via a
white-label service for retailers. For the year to 30th
September, Albumprinter had sales of approximately €37
million (£32 million, $51 million).
The acquisition is in line with Vistaprint’s stategy to acquire
more businesses in complementary sectors. Through this
acquisition, Vistaprint gains access to specialist expertise and
technology for the design and production of photo books. It now
plans to plans to extend the Albumprinter offering across the
European market.
