Abby Logistics is celebrating its first anniversary of the opening its Derby warehouse facility.
Abby Logistics specialises in warehousing, UK distribution and home delivery. The business has continued to expand and grow in recent years, so the need for a central UK hub offering storage, with round-the-clock security, was seen as the next step for the company in becoming a major player in nationwide distribution.
The latest warehouse in Alfreton, Derby is 28,000 sq.ft. in size and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a team handling its busy storage and distribution operation.
Alongside the warehouse is Abby Logistics’ head office and national call centre. From here, the company looks after its clients’ orders and monitors all parcels and shipments, giving customer peace of mind, from collection, through to delivery. The facility enables Abby to cope with anything from an individual consignment for delivery to a client’s home address, through to multi-parcel collection and delivery to corporate organisations.
Commenting on their new facility a year after being handed the keys, Managing Director, Mark Giles said: “This new warehouse has been such a key element in us being able to serve customers more efficiently. Our new location, just off the M1 motorway, is perfectly suited as a storage and distribution centre for us and enables us to carry out operations on a nationwide basis with ease”.
The new site enables Abby Logistics to handle anything from a semi-trailer to a car-derived van.
Mark Giles concluded: “It has certainly proved to be the right move for us and a reason to celebrate, one year on”.
