ACID and Folksy launch new partnership

ACID and Folksy have announced a new partnership to provide Folksy sellers and the platform with IP support, advice, and education.

As online brand protection becomes increasingly critical, especially given the risks of AI data scraping and image theft, providing a safe environment for independent makers is crucial to their business protection and longevity. This partnership will offer that security and awareness for Folksy sellers and ACID members looking for a marketplace that actively promotes respect, compliance, and ethics in IP.

James Boardwell, Founder & Director at Folksy, said, “Our makers put so much time, skill and creativity into the things they make, and protecting that work is incredibly important to us. We’re delighted to be partnering with ACID to give Folksy sellers greater access to practical IP guidance and support, particularly as the online landscape continues to change. We want Folksy to be a place where independent makers can sell with confidence, knowing that we’re taking their rights seriously and helping them understand how they can protect their work.”

Laura Newbold Breen, ACID CEO, said, “We so often hear of concerns with online marketplaces, AI data scraping and unauthorised image theft. Such instances are overwhelming for small businesses with limited resource. We’re so pleased that Folksy marketplace has taken the all-important step to becoming an ACID partner, enabling their sellers to thrive in a secure, IP-conscious environment ”.
