James Lumb and Howard Smith from Interpath Advisory who were appointed administrators of XB Realisations Limited, formerly XBite on July 15th have confirmed a sale of the business. Terms of the transaction were not revealed.
Based in Chesterfield and with sales of £51.7 million in FY21, XB had operated a multi-brand online retail business with 87 employees which traded as Roov, Pukkr, 365Games, Maison and White and Shop4World.
It cited issues of imports from China being delayed and incurring much greater shipping costs, along with the additional overheads it was carrying since scaling up during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic to meet the additional demand that was created. The directors had tried to broker a solvent sale having failed to secure investment funds.
James Lumb, managing director at Interpath Advisory said: “We are pleased to have concluded this sale of the business and we wish the purchaser all the very best for the future.”
