AK Retail, best known for Yours Clothing, has acquired the stock and IP of the former Arcadia Group brand Evans from Australian owners City Chic Collective (CCC).
CCC acquired Evans in December 2020, paying £23 million for the brand and its eCommerce & wholesale channels business, but did not take on its stores.
AK Retail has paid £8m and will add the brand to its portfolio which also includes M&Co, BadRhino and Pixiegirl.
Andrew Killingworth, founder and CEO of AK Retail said: “I am thrilled at the acquisition of Evans. This is not an insignificant business – it is very well-known worldwide. I will be looking at how to revitalise this brand and make it what it should be.”
